Schools and universities get behind The Bread & Butter Project in 2024
This year, The Bread & Butter Project has been excited to partner with a wonderful team of schools, universities and sports clubs to help deliver quality meals and snacks, as well as a number of festive events.
From sandwich breads and burger buns to on-the-go baked goods for the cafeteria counter, our products have fed many hungry tummies throughout the year.
The Bread & Butter Project enjoyed a record number of hot cross bun sales this year, thanks in large part to school support. A special thanks to the likes of Lindfield College and Sceggs Darlinghurst, who ran Hot Cross Bun campaigns to raise funds for their schools, whilst supporting our program at the same time.
Sceggs Darlinghurst also engaged The Bread & Butter Project for their biannual school fete, selling muffins and cookies at the coffee cart, hot dogs and burgers at the BBQ station, and the favourite event of the day – cupcake decorating – where hundreds of students decorated cupcakes with an assortment of decorative toppings. The event was so successful that next year they plan to double their orders!
The Bread & Butter Project is also on the radar for several student councils, whose students have become passionate advocates for our program. As wars rage on and the global need grows, young students are acutely tuned into global suffering and often ask what they can do – on some small level – to help. We assure them that when their schools purchase our products, that goes a long way towards giving newly arrived refugees a positive start in Australia.
Universities also jumped onboard this year. At Western Sydney University, The Bread & Butter Project helped keep students nourished through their busy exam periods – and on the Sydney University AFL sidelines, our burger buns have been pleasing crowds every chilly Saturday morning.
Luckily, little ones didn’t miss out. We have enjoyed working with The After School Klub (TASK), helping their teams develop delicious and nutritious menus peppered with bite-sized mini buns, specialty breads and baked goods, which have been very well received by the energetic primary schoolers.
As we gear up for Christmas, we’re excited for schools to come onboard with both our Traditional and our brand-new Chocolate Christmas Tarts. These festive favourites make delicious treats and wonderful gifts, with all proceeds of course going to support our special cause.
If you or your family are part of a school or sporting community, please contact The Bread & Butter Project to find out how you can partner with our project to procure delicious food for a great cause. Schools have played a vital role in helping us create impact this year, and we look forward to more valuable partnerships in the future.
